As many of you know, I started my professional career as a TV News Broadcaster for NBC and then CBS. During this time, I got very comfortable being in front of the camera – a skill that has served me well throughout all my entrepreneurial endeavors! ?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, I know that I am not the norm. Most people are not comfortable in front of the camera. In fact, most people hate it! However, in today’s day and age, video footage is no longer optional.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Part of creating a successful business is growing and establishing your personal brand. People do business with people they know and trust. Video allows people to get to know, like and trust you on a much larger scale than the traditional face-to-face meeting. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, here are my top tips for upping your video game and getting acquainted with the video camera:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Practice – The best way to improve at something is to practice doing it. So, don’t stress too much about how you look or what you sound like, just pretend like you are talking to a friend (you can even have your friend stand behind the camera)!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ Be Yourself – the whole point of the video is for people to get to know YOU! The real you. Not the edited, filtered, glammed up, best version of yourself. We want to see your genuine, raw, and goofy side.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ No scripts – I know it’s tempting to write out what you want to say and simply read it to the camera. Don’t do this! Instead, make the video conversational. It’s okay if you pause or stutter, as long as you keep going!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣ Don’t get discouraged – Video is awkward at first – there’s no question about that. But it also WORKS! So stick with it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Now it’s your turn. This is your chance to ask me any/all questions you have about video content, being in front of a camera, etc.
